History

Don McAdoo Construction (now referred to as McAdoo Construction Ltd.) was founded in Kingston in 1949 by Donald McAdoo Sr. The company built mainly residential and light commercial construction. Don’s son, Sandy, joined the company in 1960, after completing his apprenticeship and receiving his Carpenter qualifications from the Ontario Institute of Trades in Toronto. The company continued to build and renovate single and semi-detached homes and small apartments in the Kingston area.

In 1972, after his father’s death, Sandy started his own limited company continuing the legacy. In 1980, he moved the company to Perth, Ontario where the business flourished; building and renovating a variety of custom homes, cottages and light commercial buildings.

The third generation entered the business in 1995. Sandy’s son, Sean, completed the three year Construction Engineering Technology course at George Brown College in Toronto and joined the team. Keeping up with tradition and following in his grandfather and father’s footsteps, Sean is now the President of McAdoo Construction Ltd.
